Attachment download
Hi,
I want to download attachments (the actual contents of the files)
using the API.
I couldn't find anything in the API Docs that does this.
At first I thought that GET
https://agilezen.com/api/v1/projects/{projectid}/stories/{storyid}/...
is what I needed but it only gets the attachment meta data, which I
already have from GET
https://agilezen.com/api/v1/projects/{projectid}/stories/{storyid}/...
I can download attachments by using the Web App links like
https://agilezen.com//project/{projectid}/story/{storyid}/attachmen...,
but such URLs require a session for which a log-in was
performed.
Is there a way to download an attachment using the API token for
authentication?
Or perhaps the attachment token? What is it for, anyway ?
Thanks,
Dmitry.

Hi Dmitry,
I'm sorry but currently you can not download your attachment files using the API, but we hope to add that feature in the future. I will add your support for this feature on our request log and be sure to subscribe to our blog so you hear about all our new features and updates. The token currently can be used to differentiate between two attachments with the same name and will be used in the future for the download feature. Please let me know if you have any other questions :)
Sincerely,
Mary

Agile! Have you implemented this? I want my automation software to automatically download the data files directly from your servers as opposed to having a web script save them somewhere and then for my software to go to the local temp storage and and retrieve the files there.

Hi John,
We have not yet implemented this feature and have moved towards work on our beta product. If you're logged in, then each of the attachments that you add to your project are accessible hosted files at this time (but do not have public URL's if you are not logged in.) You can cast your votes for this capability at http://betafeedback.agilezen.com or by selecting "Give Feedback" from your user gravatar inside the beta application. We will not be adding this to AgileZen 1.0, but the functionality may exist on AgileZen 2.0 -- we will keep you updated if this capability is added once we release our API documentation for the new product.
Sincerely,
Ashley

Seconded.
I really would like to see this in the current AgileZen, not the Beta. I need it to archive off closed projects, and I currently can't complete that properly.
It's been quite a while now that this has been sitting here. Can we conclude that you're not going to do this?
Thanks,

Hi Martien,
As I said in my previous post, this will not happen on the AgileZen 1.0 product. Once we release the documentation and functionality available in the AgileZen 2.0 beta, I will let you all know if this is available (see below for details on how to be notified as soon as it happens) or if it is an item you can request to be considered for an AgileZen 2.0 future release. At this time, we do not plan to add this to the AgileZen 1.0 product.
We do hope you all get a chance to check out the AgileZen 2.0 beta! It's completely free in the beta stages, and we'd be happy to also enable a migration tool for anyone who has AgileZen 1.0 projects they'd like to move over and play around with on the beta. :)
We have also improved our feedback management and made it easier for users to follow our progress on the development of new features and requests in AgileZen 2.0. To stay on top of once the beta API for AgileZen 2.0 beta is released, you can sign up for the beta, log in, and cast your votes for support here:
AgileZen 2.0 Beta API Release & Documentation: http://betafeedback.agilezen.com/forums/170501-feedback/suggestions...
I've also added a feedback item for this specific request, so you can add your votes in support of this as well:
Add Ability to Download Attachments via API: http://betafeedback.agilezen.com/forums/170501-feedback/suggestions...
If you add your votes for these items, you will be notified once any action on the feature takes place, including once it is complete.
Sincerely,
Ashley
